I had used Gerber in Glenview before for another car. So when I needed collision repair it was so great that I didn't have to go to different shops and get estimates and not be sure of the quality, as my car is only 1 and 1/2 years old. There was no question where to go. I went to Gerber and got an estimate, and State Farm did not ask for a 2nd estimate. Every person I spoke with either in person or by phone made me feel as if I was their only customer. Each staff member listened very carefully to my concerns, which is so rare these days to find in customer service. The morning my car was to be ready, they noticed a small air bubble in the paint, so my car was repainted, and was ready the following day. My beautiful new car was rear ended by a 1996 Chevy Pickup. No damage to his piece of junk but there was plenty of damage to my car. It kind of takes the fun out of owning a new car. This was my third experience with Gerber. Somebody keyed my previous car twice (it was an employee at my work). Gerber has always done a beautiful job. They make it so easy, drop the car off and Enterprise is waiting for you in the lobby. When the car is fixed, they call me to pick it up and once again, there's an Enterprise employee to return the rental. There's no other place I would go to fix damage to my car or to replace a windshield.

I have lived in Glenview for almost 35 years and when been insured with State Farm for 5 decades! This is my anniversary 50th year with them. When I finally needed them when my wife was hit by a liable driver my car was towed to a holding facility. After several days of mishaps (towing company and state farm at fault for miscommunication) I asked them if Gerber could please use a towing company next to them. The car was going to Gerber anyway. Finally the adjuster agreed. Gerber immediately was "on it". The car was towed and work commented right away. The estimator and lady who answers the phone were kind, caring and considerate of my multiple calls (partially because I had been delayed almost a week now) and because I was hoping for repair and not a total loss. Once again I am pleased that I took my car to Gerber for the repair of some body damage. Every aspect of their service - whether it be interacting with their receptionist, the estimator, or the actual outcome - is top notch: I couldn't have asked for anything better. Their restoration was so perfect that I cannot tell that any damage had been done. The car was ready earlier than promised. Gerber assisted with the car rental as well, and coordination of the claim with my insurance company couldn't have been easier. Although I dread the need for auto body repair, it is Gerber that makes the experience as pain-free as possible.
