Gerber of Evanston repaired a minor front end damage on 5/24/12 to my 2009 Toyota Yaris. Every staff member I came in contact with treated me with great respect and kindness. The estimate was quick and they were able to do the repairs within a day or two after ordering parts. Peter Sadalski was very professional and knowledgeable in communicating to me information that I needed. The receptionist (Rachel or Rebecca -sorry), was extremely helpful in setting up the appointment and went out of her way to have a coworker pick me up as I was walking in the heat after work to get my car. Clive (?), not only drove me to work before the repair, but rescued me from the heat when coming to pick up my car. He was very kind and enthusiastic. The team at your new location in Evanston is excellent! I was apprehensive when a 'national chain' took over an independent body shop nearby, but I am very pleased with how it has turned out. I had major accident work done on a BMW by your Skokie facility several years ago. The manager took me on a tour, and I was very impressed by the workmanship, equipment and businesslike way the shop was managed. I used to run a body shop, and I know a thing or two about the business and craftsmanship challenges of the trade. I have had a couple of small things handled by your new shop in Evanston, and I was very pleased with the results. Your assistant manager even popped out a parking lot dent in a plastic bumper while I waited for no charge. That's the kind of customer orientation that will bring me back again. My front bumper came dislodged on one side and the plastic liner was rubbing against a tire. I called on a Saturday afternoon and was told I could bring my car in first thing on Monday. The person who met with me remembered my call and problem. After looking at the car he told me that to fix it properly could cost up to $500. After expaining that I hoped to replace my 11 year-old car soon, so didn't want to invest that much, he offered to stabilize the bumper. He did this while I waited, and at no cost! I really appreciated his willingness to offer this different solution.

I had a wonderful experience at Gerber Collision and Glass in Evanston, IL. On May 1, 2012. I needed an estimate for a loose fender that occurred when I backed over a rock. I had received two estimates from other shops that seemed too expensive, so I decided to go to Gerber. The manager took my car into the garage and returned in about ten minutes and said that he was able to put the fender back in place and stabilize it and that it should be okay. I thanked him and asked him what I owed. He said, “No charge.” I was surprised and pulled out a twenty-dollar bill and said to take it for his time. He refused to take and said, “No, just write a feedback of your experience.” I hope this feedback acknowledges my gratitude for his service. Jim Farrell, Wilmette, IL

Wonderful service!!! Peter instantly and correctly identified that I couldn't afford to sink a lot of money into my (about to be retired) Honda. A blown wiring harness and fused window motor had left my driver side window stuck down four inches with rain on the way. Peter and the mechanic (whose name unfortunately escapes me) got the window back in place and shimmed free of charge (over my objections that I had to pay them something for their time). Only after fixing my immediate needs did Peter then offer a quote for the full repairs should I want them in the future. I genuinely felt that they had my best interests in mind. So refreshing to receive that kind of service. I would definitely recommend this location and these people. Top notch professionals all the way around.

I had cracked left taillights and a small dent on the trunk lid. The trunk lid had to be removed, repaired, repainted and nameplates re-attached. The work was done perfectly and all aspects of my interaction with the Gerber team were professional, courteous and efficient. I self-paid (no insurance involved), and I appreciate the $100 coupon that Gerber provides to customers not using an insurance company. A perfect 10 all around.

My car was hit by a teen driver, and I turned to Gerber to repair the damage, since they are right in my neighborhood. The work was done promptly, and the quality was top-notch. I have an electric blue Mazda 3, and the color is quite unusual, so I was a bit concerned about whether they could match it accurately. But they did, and the car looks like new. The staff at Gerber was professional, courteous, friendly, and the whole experience was nothing but pleasurable. I highly recommend Gerber, and I will definitely be back if there are any future mishaps with my vehicle.
