On Dec 21st, 2010, late evening, while I was at a stop light, an approaching car from behind slid on some ice and hit my car, pushing me into the car in front. Luckily, nobody was hurt but my car sustained a lot of damage. I called Gerber in Skokie and brought the car in on the 22nd. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly, which meant a lot because I still was rattled from the accident. My rep was David Martinez. Because it was so close to the holidays, i knew I would not get the car back for awhile, and David estimated it would probably finished the 2nd week in January. (There was about $3500 damage.) So, I was pleasantly surprised to get a call first thing in the morning on January 3rd, telling me that the car was ready! Not to mention all the calls in between, providing updates. Mr David Martinez needs an ovation for the courtesies he exended to me in regards to the repair of my Acura TL. He very patiently answered my frequent questions. The actual repair looks fantastic. Had to have two rear view mirrors replaced in a couple of weeks-both the customer service rep/receptionist and especially the Estimator --David Martinez --were very helpful, gave me great information, were flexible/empathetic, and most importantly tried to get me the best price. It was good experience -given the circumstances of unexpected car repair.

The service was outstanding. When I arrived I was assisted very quickly and efficiently. The claims agent James quickly assessed the car and gave me a very detailed explaination of the assessed damage. The best part was the car would be ready in three days and they were able to finish in two days. this was great and the car looked great too.

I would like to commend JIM HEITZMAN for making a complex situation as pleasant for me as possible. He dealt with two different insurance companies (one for damage to the front of my car, and one company for damaged to the rear of my car). Just as important to me was the use of a rental car for which he worked with both insurance companies for a smooth transition for the two companies to each pay their individual portions of the rental given the completion dates of the work for each of the separate claims. I did not have to make calls back and forth between the two insurance companies or the rental company as Jim took care of everything. He also kept me apprised of the progress on the work on my car, and when I could expect the work to be completed. The work that Gerber did on my car was done to perfection.
